Edith Coenen

Director of Resource Planning

Edith Coenen, Skype’s director of resource planning, is responsible for defining, shaping and leading the resource planning team. She manages the product portfolio and roadmap to ensure that Skype makes wise decisions about how resources are allocated across the organization to successfully deliver innovative products for our users.

Edith joined Skype in 2005 and has worked in a variety of positions. Most recently, as senior program manager, she was responsible for defining, implementing and running Skype prioritization, planning and execution processes to ensure delivery of the 2008 company product roadmap. Before that, she was part of the payments team managing various programs to maximize successful payment transactions in the Skype online payment flows and leading the integration with PayPal after the eBay acquisition.

Prior to Skype, Edith worked for KPN, the Dutch Telecoms Operator in the Netherlands, as a project manager for business development.

Edith studied Applied Mathematics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with placements at Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and KTH in Stockholm. She also holds a PhD Degree from the University of Groningen for her research, carried out both at Groningen and the University of Bristol, into computational methods for aircraft wing design.
