Chief Technology Officer

As CTO, Daniel Berg is charged with developing Skype’s full range of technologies and products while enhancing and leveraging the architectural vision of the company’s business partners. He is responsible for growing and maintaining a global research and development team, fostering excellence in both execution and innovation.

Prior to Skype, Daniel was chief technology officer at Sun Microsystems in Sun's global sales and services division and vice president of systems engineering for Sun's Emerging Markets Region (India, China, Russia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America). In those roles, he set the organization’s technical strategy and direction. Prior to his career at Sun, he worked for IBM and Honeywell.
