Skype Announces Senior Management Changes

December 15, 2006

Luxembourg, December 15th, 2006 – Skype today announced two key personnel changes. Alex Kazim, Skype’s President, will be leaving Skype in January to return to eBay. Kazim, an 8-year eBay veteran, joined Skype immediately following eBay’s acquisition of the company 14 months ago. He was responsible for product development and innovation at Skype and reported to Niklas Zennström, Skype’s Chief Executive Officer.

During his tenure at Skype, Kazim played a central role in accelerating the company’s product and engineering infrastructure. Having successfully helped Skype grow and integrate with eBay, Kazim will return to eBay to work on major strategic projects for the company. In Kazim’s new role, he will report to Meg Whitman, eBay’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

“Alex has helped me and Skype’s executive team take the company to the next level,” said Zennström. “Without Alex, Skype would not be as far along as it is today. I’m sorry to see him head home, but look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role with Meg.”

With Kazim’s departure, Henry Gomez, Skype’s Chief Marketing Office and Director of Country Operations, has been named President. In his new role, Gomez will serve as an advisor to Zennstrom and the principal liaison with eBay and PayPal.

Gomez is a 7-year eBay veteran who joined Skype in November 2005 as general manager for North America, and built Skype’s US and Canadian business operations before becoming the company’s CMO. His current marketing responsibilities will be handled by the centralized London marketing team Gomez created in recent months.

Zennström and co-founder Janus Friis, along with Gomez and the rest of the Skype management team, remain actively focused on the global expansion of Skype’s business and continued integration with eBay and PayPal.

Offers 12 Months of Unlimited Skype Calls to Any Phone
Within the US and Canada for a Flat Annual Rate

SAN JOSE, Calif., December 13, 2006 – Skype, the global Internet communications company, is now offering U.S. and Canadian consumers the new Skype Unlimited Calling plan, a paid annual subscription service that allows registered users to make 12 months of unlimited SkypeOut™ calls to any phones within the U.S. and Canada.

Skype allows its users to make great quality voice and video calls over the Internet. In addition, Skype can be used to share files, send instant messages, conduct conference calls, and more.

The Skype Unlimited Calling plan is available for a flat rate of $29.95 per year. People who sign up for the new plan before January 31, 2007 will receive a special discounted introductory rate of $14.95 per year – 50 percent off the regular price. While Skype to Skype calls will remain free, the new Skype Unlimited Calling plan is an easier and cheaper way for our growing number of SkypeOut users to stay in touch with friends and family over any phone line. Consumers can also choose SkypeOut’s pay-per-minute offering.

“The new Skype Unlimited Calling Plan is an affordable option that will save consumers hundreds of dollars compared to high rates charged by traditional phone companies,” said Don Albert, North America General Manager for Skype. “We want to give Skype customers convenient options of choosing either an unlimited calling plan with a flat annual rate and or staying with our standard pay-per-minute offering.”

The new pricing plan follows Skype’s very successful promotion in which calls within the US and Canada are free until December 31, 2006, at which time the new Unlimited Calling plan takes effect. Customers who purchase the new Skype Unlimited Calling plan before January 31, 2007 will get the discounted pricing of $14.95, as well as a bonus offer of 100 minutes of SkypeOut credit for making International calls and over $50 in discount coupons for purchasing Skype-certified hardware products.

Skype is the leading Internet voice calling solution in North America, with 11.9 million registered users, as of the end of September 2006. An independent research report called Consumer Home VoIP Trends published by ChangeWave Research in November 2006 found that Skype is the most popular residential VoIP service (29 percent) among the more than one-in-five (21 percent) U.S. telecommunications consumers already using VoIP at home. The survey also found that another 13 percent of U.S. telecommunications consumers plan to adopt VoIP technology within the next 12 months, which means that by the end of 2007, 1 out of 3 consumers will be using VoIP.

Skype Now Supports Over 120 Windows Mobile Smartphones and Pocket PCs

December 12, 2006

LUXEMBOURG, December 12, 2006 – Skype, the global Internet communications company, today released the beta version of Skype™ 2.2 for Windows Mobile that supports smartphones and enhances support for Pocket PC devices.

Now available for smartphones powered by Windows Mobile software, as well as Pocket PCs, including those using lower-power processors, the latest incarnation of Skype software further extends Skype use beyond desktop or notebook computers.

Skype is now supported by over 120 devices that run Windows Mobile software, giving more people the freedom to use Skype anywhere in the world where they have high-speed wireless access to the internet. Travelers who make Skype-to-Skype calls or use SkypeOut™ to call regular landlines can save considerably on roaming charges.

“Skype for Windows Mobile gives our users more freedom to use Skype on the go and is key to our mobility strategy,“ said Eric Lagier, Head of Business Development, Mobile. “We’ve now added support for smartphones and expanded the range of supported Pocket PCs. In fact, over 90 percent of Windows Mobile devices with WiFi can now run Skype software. We’re absolutely delighted that millions of more people can have Skype conversations on the move and without a computer in sight.“

“Microsoft’s Windows Mobile software is well suited to prosumer, feature rich devices,“ said David McQueen, Principle Analyst at Informa Telecoms and Media. “We estimate that Windows Mobile powered handset sales will continue to be strong in Europe and increase significantly in North America from late 2006. By 2011 it will be the most popular handset OS in that region and Skype is well positioned to shape the market.”

Skype for Windows Mobile can be downloaded for free at skype.com/go/mobile.

Skype’s Holiday Survival Guide

December 7, 2006

Skype has the latest gear to help you stay in touch with your loved ones this holiday
and help you retain your sanity in the process

LUXEMBOURG, Dec. 7, 2006 – The holidays are again upon us, and along with tidings of peace on Earth and goodwill toward men come those seemingly unavoidable holiday hassles. Skype, the global Internet communications company, is helping users cope this season with a holiday survival guide of Skype Certified™ products, available both online and in retail stores in time for the holidays.

Skype’s affordable gear, coupled with free calls among the users of Skype™ software, can help save precious cash to be put toward shedding post-holiday debt as quickly as those unwanted holiday pounds. Skype Certified products are now available on Skype’s Web store at skype.com/store.

• WiFi Phones: Whether you’re stranded in an airport, snowed in at school or dealing with spotty cell coverage while en route, Skype has a solution. With the new NETGEAR SPH101 and Belkin Wi-Fi Phone for Skype phones available online now, you’ve got an inexpensive and reliable means of communication from open access points anywhere in the world.

• Skype End-of-Year Bundle Pack: We all have that special someone on our list that is impossible to buy for. Instead of wracking your brain for a trinket that will be promptly re-gifted at next year’s office party, give them a more meaningful gift of communication with a Skype bundle of products and services. This year’s Skype End-of-Year Bundle conveniently includes a SMC WiFi phone, La Fonera WiFi router, 500 SkypeOut minutes* and 12 months of Skype voicemail. It’s such a good deal that you’ll be tempted to buy one for yourself. Don’t worry, you deserve it, but now there’s no excuse for not calling Mom more often.

• Web Cameras: Whether your family tree is rooted in another country or you’ve got a loved one abroad in the military this season, Skype can bridge the miles and still make it possible to create holiday memories together. Logitech’s QuickCam Chat for Skype is a great stocking stuffer for those who want to take advantage of Skype’s free video calling. Creative’s Live! Cam Voice, available now, blocks out side chatter with special adaptive array microphones, and the whole family can pile in front of the ultra wide-angle lens. Not only are they a useful way to watch friends and family open gifts from multiple locations, but you can also—at your own risk—suggest this one as the perfect means to celebrate at a safe distance with the in-laws.

• Hands-free Headsets: You want to give Junior a fitting gift, but you’re worried you’ll find it posted to eBay two weeks later with the net profits going towards his student union bar. Enter the Icemat Siberia Multi Headset, which is available now online and in stores; specifically designed for a multitude of uses including gaming, portable music players, HI-FI and IP communication, the unidirectional microphone can be attached to the headset, a monitor or even clothing and volume can easily be adjusted with the separate volume control. Looking for another stocking stuffer? Give him the Plantronics Audio 30 PC Headset, which is lightweight and portable, features full-range stereo sound, plus is great value for your money. And as an added bonus, the money saved on his phone bills can now go directly into your “retirement fund.”

• Cordless Handset: Consider the following scene: You’re propped up on the couch, immobile after a dangerous blend of spiked eggnog and three helpings of holiday turkey. Sound familiar? Fulfill your holiday duties with ease using the new Philips 321 Cordless Handset, which is available now. Make both Skype and traditional landline calls from the comfort of your couch, or from any room in your house, for that matter. And no, laps back and forth to the fridge for leftovers do not count as exercise.

• Cordless Phones: Spare Dad another mind-numbing manual to thumb through, cursing “some assembly required.” Instead, give him something user-friendly such as the RTX 3088 DUALphone, which he can use for both traditional landline calls and Skype calls. With the money he saves on phone bills, he can buy something for himself…or stock up on those AA batteries in honor of the second most-hated holiday phrase: “batteries not included.”

• For Young Adults: For the kitten or puppy fans in your family, consider the available Skype gift alternatives that will keep the little tykes as occupied this season: the new Perfectel Hello Kitty Phone and Verballs animated speakerphones. Everyone’s favorite feline has added Internet calling to her repertoire, and Verballs are talking furry critters that bring Skype to life by moving their mouths at exactly the same time as your friend talks to you. And fun fact: All of the Verball characters were created by the team of designers who also worked on the Oscar award-winning Wallace and Gromit films.

Looking for more information on these or any other Skype Certified products? Skype Gear, a new blog at www.skype.com/gear dedicated exclusively to the world of Skype hardware, can give you the latest news, comments, reviews and behind-the-scenes information directly from Skype’s gadget gurus.

*The 500 SkypeOut minutes in the End-of-Year Bundle are based on calls to destinations that fall under the SkypeOut Global Rate, applicable to calls to fixed lines in more than 30 countries.

3 launches X-Series - 3 breaks the mould with flat-rate, unlimited mobile internet access plus free Skype calls from your mobile for all X-Series customers

December 4, 2006

London 1 December 2006: 3 is set to revolutionise the way consumers use and pay for their mobiles with today’s launch of the first true flat rate ‘all-you-can eat’ mobile broadband packages.

The X-Series from 3 offers unprecedented choice for consumers wishing to stay in touch, find information and stay entertained on the move. For the first time, mobile users will be able to take advantage of unlimited internet access from their mobiles; make unlimited calls from their mobile to any Skype PC customer worldwide and to any other Skype 3 mobile customer; watch their home television on their mobile and access their home PC files remotely.

X-Series was devised by 3 to bring the full internet experience to mobile users, and offers consumers an unrivalled choice of services that blur the boundaries between mobiles and PCs.

The launch of the X-Series from 3 not only takes the mobile internet experience to a new level, but constitutes a landmark in how to charge for mobile services. Replicating the established home broadband pricing model, all X-Series customers will pay a monthly fee for access, and use their unlimited mobile broadband connection to access the internet and enjoy a unique range of free services.

The X Series from 3 is available from today in two mobile broadband packages, ‘X-Series Gold’ and ‘X-Series Silver’ - priced at £10 and £5 a month respectively.

Both the ‘Silver’ package and the ‘Gold’ package offer unlimited internet access on the move, and free Skype calls - both nationally and internationally - to other Skype users. The Gold package also offers access to Slingbox and Orb- innovative services that allow home TV and what’s stored on home PCs to be accessed and viewed on mobiles. Unlimited Windows Live Messenger and access to eBay are also included with all of 3’s Pay Monthly price plans.

X-Series is available direct from 3 from today - via 3 stores, online at www.three.co.uk/xseries and by calling 0870 358 6957. To sign up to X-Series from 3, customers simply pick their mobile, select their preferred price plan, then select whether they want the Gold or Silver option.

Graeme Oxby, Marketing Director of 3 UK, commented: “X-Series is mobile internet as it was meant to be - unlimited access and free at the point of use. Moving away from charges per call, per megabyte and per message will set consumers free to enjoy mobile broadband services without having to think about what it’s costing. So if you’re an X-Series customer with 3, your Skype calls, instant messaging, emailing, and internet searching won’t cost you another penny.”

Commenting on the increased choices offered by X-Series from 3, Oxby said: “People are not just searching on the internet now, but are using their broadband connections to take advantage of innovative services like Skype and messenger. We’ve embraced this trend and moved quickly to ensure that consumers can have the same choices when they’re away from home as they do when they’re sitting in front of their pc.”

3’s X-Series services include:
Unlimited access to the internet via mobile.
All X-Series customers will be able to access the internet using their mobiles whenever they want.

Unlimited Skype to Skype calls
3 is the first mobile service in the world to offer its customers Skype on their mobiles, allowing them to make and receive free calls on the move to any Skype PC customer worldwide and to any other Skype 3 mobile customer as part of the X-Series package.

More than 130 million people worldwide are using Skype to make free calls using their home PC internet connection. 3’s innovation allows its customers to make free calls to other Skype users with their mobiles as well. Customers simply add their Skype contacts to the contact list on their mobile. They will be able to see when these contacts are online and available to call.

Cashing in on email and IM
In addition to unlimited open web access, X-Series customers will benefit from free webmail services. 3’s email package enables its customers to access their own webmail, including gmail, Yahoo! and AOL, on their phones. Also included with all 3 Pay Monthly price plans is free Windows Live Messenger (previously called MSN Messenger), which means 3 customers can take part in conversations they’d otherwise miss when they’re out and about.

Downloading free podcasts
X-Series customers can search and download podcasts for free while on the move - removing the need to plan ahead and download a favourite podcast from a PC before they set off. Download speeds are fast, with a 45 minute podcast taking just two minutes to download.

Remote access to files on your PC – and more music for your money
For the first time ever 3 customers will be able to access the contents of their home PC remotely from their mobile. The service, called ‘Orb’ can be used to access files saved on a PC, including your music, photos and videos.

Orb will allow X-Series users to access their music collections stored on their PC. Selected tracks can be streamed direct to the handset. This service complements the network’s popular 3MusicStore™, which lets customers download tracks to their PC as well as their mobiles for no extra charge.

The Orb service is included in the X-Series Gold package, which costs £10 per month.

Sling your TV to your mobile
The X-Series ‘Gold’ £10 package also offers 3 customers access to whatever home TV services they subscribe to, wherever they are, via a Slingbox. So X-Series Gold customers can watch channels live, or watch programmes they’ve already recorded onto hard disc drives at home. 3 will be offering Slingboxes - this year’s must-have TV gadget - to customers who sign up to the X-Series for a market-beating £99.99.

Initially 3’s X-Series services will be available on the Nokia N73 handset with the Sony Ericsson W950i following in January. More details on the X-Series Silver and Gold packages can be found at www.three.co.uk/xseries

-Ends-

Notes to Editors:

X-Series Silver and Gold offer unlimited use of these mobile broadband services with high fair use limits which all except unfair users should find difficult to reach. See www.three.co.uk/xseries for full details of 3’s fair use policy.

X-Series Silver and Gold have a minimum term of 6 months when purchased on connection to 3, but customers who buy a Slingbox on X-Series Gold will have a minimum of 12 months.

On Skype:
Both the X-Series Silver and Gold packages include free national and international calls to Skype PC users worldwide and to any other Skype 3 mobile users.

On Music and Orb:
3 customers buy more than a million audio and video music downloads on their mobiles every month. 3 accounts for one in ten of all singles sold in the UK – both online and offline. The new Orb service gives remote internet access from a mobile handset to a home PC.

On Slingbox:
3 is the first mobile operator to partner with Slingbox to allow customers remote live access to their home TV channels and also to programmes saved on their hard disc systems. SlingBox has recently been named “Stuff Magazine Hot Buy” (September 2006).

Coverage:
All X-Series services will be available when there’s video coverage on 3’s networks in the UK or overseas and, except for Orb and Sling, will work in our UK voice and picture coverage area as well.

On the Gold and Silver X-Series packages:
More information on these packages is available at www.three.co.uk/xseries
