Xandros and Skype Ink Bundling Agreement

NEW YORK, NY and ROMANEL-SUR-MORGES, Switzerland — Xandros, the leading developer of easy-to-use Linux solutions, and Skype, the Global Internet Telephony Company™, today announced an agreement to bundle Skype with the Xandros Desktop Operating System and promote low-cost Xandros Linux desktops and laptops with Skype Internet calling.

"Xandros-based computers, which sell for as low as $200 (USD), are expanding the market for technology and we’re thrilled to join a leader in the Linux market and together grow the global base for modern technology and Skype."

The co-marketing agreement will allow for mutual product promotion. Xandros will include SkypeOut vouchers with its latest SurfSidetm Linux suite, as well as with Xandros desktops and laptops sold through Walmart.com, Amazon.com, and other channels. SkypeOut is the pre-paid, premium offering that allows Skype users to call traditional phones around the world at local rates. Xandros customers will receive vouchers worth up to 120 minutes of SkypeOut calls. Skype to Skype calls are free for all users.


Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Motorola and Skype Form Broad Seamless Mobility Alliance

3GSM World Congress, Cannes — February 14, 2005 — Motorola, Inc. HGC and Skype Partner to Deliver Internet Telephony

Hong Kong – 6 February 2005 – Skype, the Global Internet Telephony Company™ and Hutchison Global Communications Limited ("HGC"), the operator of the largest fibre-to-the-building network in Hong Kong, today announce a partnership to promote and deliver Skype software to the Hong Kong market.


HGC is the first Fixed Telecommunications Network Services ("FTNS") operator in the world to have reached a co-branding agreement with Luxembourg-based Skype Technologies S.A. Under the agreement, the two partners will bring Skype to Hong Kong through a co-branded "HGC-Skype" portal, which is scheduled to be in service in March 2005.

Skype for Mac OS X System Requirements


Skype for Mac OS X 1.0 requires a Macintosh computer with Mac OS X v10.3 or newer, a G3, G4, or G5 processor, a minimum 400 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, 20 MB free hard drive disk space, sound card, speakers, microphone and an Internet connection.


Skype for Linux System Requirements


Skype for Linux 1.0 requires a computer running at least a 400 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM,10 MB free hard drive disk space, sound card, speakers, microphone and an Internet connection. Skype for Linux 1.0 has been successfully been tested on many recent distributions, including, but not limited to: SuSE 9, Gentoo 1.4, Debian "unstable", Fedora Core 2, Sun Java Desktop System Release 2 and Xandros. It should run on all distributions that have the required versions of glibc and Qt libraries available. Skype for Linux 1.0 supports both KDE and Gnome desktop managers.
